Rockburn’s Parkburn Vineyard is nestled in the rain shadow of the Pisa Range, inside that vineyard is a very special, steep, easterly site known as the Hillside. Those are the grapes that’ve been carefully selected to feature in The Chosen. Perfumed with soft red currant, strawberry and rhubarb layers, there’s a suede-like texture rolling across the mid-palate that’s laced with peppered raspberry and fresh cherry characters. It’s a fulsome, juicy, generously structured pinot noir with a personality all its own. Perfect drinking now, but will reward further cellaring to 2028.
