Saint Clair Pioneer Block3 43 Degrees Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2020 $28.90

If you could describe sauvignon blanc as being ‘silky’ then I’d be doing it as soon as you sip this new release from the sauvignon blanc braniac’s at Saint Clair. Sourced from a vineyard owned by Mark and Kate O’Sullivan that’s planted with rows running at an unusual angle of 43 degrees north-east to south-west. This means the southern side of the vines is shaded for longer, accentuating the herbaceous, green, grassy notes in the wine. Boasting crunchy-cleansing, red capsicum, sweet pea, apple, passionfruit and loads of lemony, peachy punch alongside leafy, lawn clippings and tomato stalk saturation – it’s a very up-front style that’ll wow the crowds.
