100% verdejo (verdelho) here from Javier Sanz, whose vineyards are laid out in a mosaic of plots and small vineyards all within the Valladolid municipality of La Seca in Spain. His verdejo is a sexy, lithe young thing bursting with summer flowers, crabapples, nashi and nectarine. Vibrant varietal notes of sweet grapefruit and pineapple, combine with fennel and it’s bone dry with crisp, refreshing acidity and a lively finish due to an extended, wild ferment in stainless steel. That captures those essential bright fruits and crisp florals in the wine. I LOVE it!
