Quartz Reef Late Disgorged Central Otago Methode Traditionnelle 2010 $120

Originally released to celebrate the monumental occasion of 21years since Austrian winemaker Rudi Bauer knocked on the door of the the Perriam family at Bendigo Station and convinced them their land would be the perfect place to grow grapes for supremely good Pinot Noir and sparkling wine, this wine is maturing into an every-occasion sip of awesome. Creamy, lemon-licked, smooth and citrusy yet showing a solid seam of caramelised oak, it’s a joy to drink. This blend of 93% chardonnay and 7% Pinot Noir was blended and bottled on November 15 2010 then aged for 102 months before being disgorged, labelled and released. Just 500 bottles were produced and a small amount are still available at quartzreef.co.nz as at Jan 6 2021.
