After over 5 successful years as Rosé All Day, the annual festival has rebranded to Māwhero!
“Te Reo for the colour pink, Māwhero represents a more fun, relaxed and welcoming approach to wine festivals,” says organiser and winemaker Jules van Costello, “and it’s exciting to see the event grow and move forward.”
First hosted in Wellington in early 2019 Rosé All Day was the flagship event of specialist wine retailer Cult Wine and has hosted half a dozen events in Wellington, Auckland and New Plymouth. The first Māwhero is scheduled for Wellington on Saturday 16 November and will showcase a range of over four dozen pink, rosé and light red wines from New Zealand and around the world including wines from Cambridge Road, Known Unknown, Hopesgrove / Aard, The Elder, Tincan and Wrights Vineyard with many more being announced over the next 6 weeks.
“Rosé represents about 10% of wine sales globally and is one of the only categories showing continued growth. It is our desire with Māwhero to showcase rosé not only as a wine of sun and celebration but also as a serious, complex and diverse category.” says van Costello
Discounted early bird tickets are available Friday 30 August at 9am on Humanitix. Māwhero is being hosted in The Exchange Building Atrium with on-site catering provided by Glou Glou.
