The buzz for Marlborough’s 2020 pinot vintage has been so loud it has positively apiaristic levels of excitement surrounding it. Jules’ OTQ (short for ‘on the quiet’) is her prestige wine that usually sneaks out under the radar only in years when the fruit is perfect. However this time it’s both loud, proud, stylish and sophisticated simultaneously. Farmed organically and biodynamically in their Wrekin Vineyard, this blend of clones 777, 667 and 114 has created deep, moody, broody, dark cherry and tamarillo aromatics which lead to a suede-like, earthy mid-palate edged with punchy berryfruit, dense spices and dried, wild herbs. Beautifully structured.
