Domain Road Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc 2021 $24 
This absolute banger from Bannockburn just proves Marlborough isn’t always the centre of the sauvignon blanc universe. Dripping with delicious citrus, fragrant elderflower and peachy notes this sauvignon was sourced from the Crosbie family’s Defiance vineyard which could explain why it’s such a seriously tasty rebel. Whole-bunch pressed and cold-settled for 2 days, 35% of the juice went into stainless steel tanks to ferment and 65% went into mostly older French oak barrels. The yeast lees were then stirred weekly to add fatness and creamy complexity to the wine and it’s a fresh, softly herbaceous, generous sip indeed.
