Gibson Bridge Celebration Méthode Traditionelle Marlborough Pinot Gris Rosé 2020 $56
Turning pinot gris into a fine, sparkling wine is not the easiest thing, but Howard and Julie Simmonds have decided to have a crack using fruit from their tiny, 6acre vineyard in the Renwick subregion. Coloured a soft apricot from the pinky-grey hue of the pinot gris grapes, showing ultra-delicate, stylish, finely tuned bead and scented with very subtle nashi and rising dough characters, it’s a rich, dry, mineral-edged style.
This wine differs from the Methode Traditionelle of the same name (but in a black bottle) in that it has 4g/l sugar added.
