Five years on from harvest and this merlot grown high up on rocky terraces overlooking the Ngaruroro River, is actually looking at its peak drinking window right now. Plummy and easy like Sunday morning to sip, it’s a really cheerful, blackberry and boysenberry-driven style with a spicy nose and a smooth, cocoa and leather-laced mouthfeel. Very sippable indeed.
