Millton Vineyard Libiamo Gisborne Gewürztraminer 2020 $40 
I know ‘Libiamo’ translates to ‘Let’s Drink’ but unfortunately, as much as I’m a gewürz nut, I couldn’t bring myself to drink more than a few sips of this wine. Maybe I’m missing something, probably am, as I often do. And maybe I’m too simple in my tastes, but I do like my gewurz to contain at least some semblance of fruit and sadly my bottle of Libiamo lacked that and showed only dried herbal characters, out of balance acidity and none of the fresh, lychee and spice notes that signify really sippable gewürztraminer to me. I’m a fan of Millton wines, however this one was clumsy and didn’t measure up. Those who like their boundaries pushed with a funky bent may like to give it a go though.
