Bald Hills Last Light Bannockburn Riesling 2019 $30 
Erupting with crisp, sweet apple, lemonade, lime curd and honeysuckle, this new vintage of Last Light is an absolute cracker. Weighing in at a demure 11.7%, and showing intense mandarin, honey and peachy punch, it’s made by riesling legend Pete Bartle and sourced from Bald Hills’ Bannockburn site, the single hectare of vines that produced this stunner are planted specifically to soak up the last rays of the late-afternoon sun. I didn’t think the 2018 could be beaten, but clearly the 2019 summer nurtured these vines very nicely indeed.
