Abbey Estate Bridge Pa Temptation Malbec 2019 $25 
Inky magenta in the glass and grizzling around the gills with earthy spices and gamey, wild and woolly notes. Malbec as a single varietal in Hawke’s Bay is not a common thing, particularly in the Bridge Pa area. so when someone decides to bottle it solo, my ears, eyes and tastebuds burst into breakdance mode. Dermot Haworth is the second generation Haworth to shepherd those vines into the bottle and he’s a honking Malbec fan, so it’s fair to say that he’s thrown a shed-tonne (technical term) of skill at this wine.
