JK.14 Alice Manduria Verdeca 2019 $30
Fans of dry white wines overflowing with apple, lime, honey and wildflowers on the nose and palate will love this perky new release from Puglia. Verdeca is a crisp, dry, grape variety which for aeons was used to produce Vermouth in the Emilia Romagna region, however while demand for vermouth from there is declining, in Puglia, verdeca is still grown in small quantities and made into wines like this. I love how its floral richness makes it a wine that’s incredibly mouthfilling and leaves a comet tail of minerality, apple, pear, spice and peach. Gorgeous.
