The Little Beauty is sourced from three parcels of fruit from just ten select rows in a family vineyard in the Waihopai Valley, and the rather stark label is in total contrast to the riot of flavour inside. Carefully crafted by ex-Cloudy Bay winemaker Eveline Fraser and sold only in the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA, this wine is a complex, softly herbaceous example which, due to being barrel-fermented with 100% wild yeast, attenuates the squinty acidity often associated with sauvignon and replaces it with a creamy, mellow, peachy texture.
