A savoury, juicy, slightly peppery blend of 85% nebbiolo and 15% freisa (a lesser-known red grape) from Barbaresco in the Langhe region, that will definitely appeal to those who like an earthy yet tart style of red. Aged in stainless steel, the fruit notes (cherry, raspberry, cranberry) are firm and fresh, while the spice and florals really boost the fragrance and it finishes with firm tannins and an elegant style. Every year the team at La Vedetta are given the freedom to ‘experiment’ with one wine, to create a new blend or style that has a funky edge to it – and this it it for 2018.
