Chardonnay all day is what springs to mind when gathering all the components together for this perfect pie.  The Vidal Soler Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2019 ($34.99) is chock full of ripe, roasted stonefruit and caramelised spice and lashings of citrus which work spectacularly well with smoked seafood.  Spectacularly well.

The oak to fruit to alcohol to acidity ratios sit in perfect harmony and the texture is incredibly juicy.  I love it!
