David Clouston spent a lot of time learning the art of winemaking on the jawdroppingly gorgeous, French island of Corsica in the Mediterranean. It’s also the place where he became more than mildly obsessed with rosé. Adopting the Provençal ideal of blending many different grape varieties to create a dry, spicy, thirst-quenching style this melange of Marlborough fruit was fermented in a combo of stainless steel and concrete egg tanks to boost the minerality and layers of bodacious blackcurrant, watermelon, fresh herbs and citrus. Clean, yet complex and ever-so-slightly sea-breezy, it’s an antipodean star named after a Mediterranean paradise.
