TW Reserve Gisborne Reserve Chardonnay 2018 $27
Bottled on the 29th March 2019, this chardonnay is shaping up to be quite something special. Ripe, rumpty and ready for action with buckets of roast nectarine, creamy, cashew and almond layers and a plush, juicy mouthfeel. This classic Gisborne chardonnay is a huge crowd-pleaser and ultra-long on flavour. TW stands for Tietjen Witters, the surnames of Paul and Geordie respectively, two mates deeply connected to the Golden Slopes, Gisborne’s very own Côte d’Or… This narrow, five-kilometre strip from Ormond to Hexton, has produced the most famous chardonnay’s in the region over the decades. The TW Reserve is a mid-heavy weighted, elegant example which coats your palate with tropical numbing agent – and let’s be honest, that’s all we really want at the end of the day right? Oh. And a heaping chunk of oozing Brie de Mer.
