It pretty much is what it says on the tin. Or should I say ‘label’ but in unique fashion. Inspired by the wines of Jura, winemaker Jules van Costello has crafted a single barrel of organic Bridge Pa Sauvignon Blanc that’s been barrel-fermented and matured for 6 and a half years under flor yeast which develops as a white, waxy, or creamy layer on the surface of certain wines as they age (Sherry being the most common). This is the same maturation time as Jura’s famous Vin Jaune, wso Jules named it Vin Jeanne (pronounced Zhahn) after his grandmother. The wine was also moved around 3 different winery sites while it aged. So it’s well-travelled. Expect aromas of picked walnuts, wild herbs, bruised apple, peach peelings and creamed clover honey. A hint of baking spice and smoke lead to a rich, caramelised, softly-drying finish.
