Pete Bartle is a winemaker that stamps his signature on everything he touches, meaning if it’s pinot gris – it’s gonna be worth getting his autograph for sure! After three years in the bottle, 2016 is really hitting its straps, texturally it’s dry and has that pear-skin astringency that keeps the flavours buoyant. Apple, quince, a lick of lemon and peach – it’s seriously satisfying and mouth filling. It’s what I call a ‘mwah’ wine. Like an air-kiss from a wealthy woman wearing a kaftan – it’ll draw lots of attention to you.
