Coal Pit Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc 2017 $24.95 

I love the aromas of freshly steamed broad beans, sweet peas, passionfruit curd and lemon in this wine.  They’re followed by the same and more on the palate, including herbaceous, lemongrassy goodness from their Gibbston site on the finish.  Winemaker Lynn Horton has captured all the good tropical intensity and snappy acidity we want to see in sauvignon blanc, but she’s also added a little sniff of barrel fermentation to inject extra complexity.  Refreshing.
