In Māori, ‘mahi’ means many things. It can mean ‘to ferment’ (verb) or (noun) ‘an abundance of’, it can even mean the ‘mast’ of a ship, but I prefer the multipurpose nounverb ‘work’. As in “You do the ‘mahi’, you get the treats” because that’s exactly what you get with this wine. Treats galore. Delicate raspberry, watermelon and creaming soda characters combine with tangy, tropical tastiness. It’s worth working hard for.
Sip with: Fig and roast beetroot salad.
